Lincoln Heights Branch Library 
2530 Workman Street
Constructed in 1916 and designed by Hibbard & Cody, it is a two-story Italian Renaissance building of brick and stucco. It is said to be one of the City's most visually interesting neighborhood public buildings and one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in the area.

Villa Rafael

The original portion of this house was built in 1904. In 1923 Giovanni and Tranquilla Vai acquired the property. On March 25, 1929 Mr. Vai secured a permit to modify the structure, listing J. A. Wilson as the architect for the modification. Its architecture is described as Spanish Colonial Revival exterior with an Italian Renaissance-influenced interior.

Department of Water and Power Building

Remodeled to its present condition by theater architect S. Charles Lee, this Art Deco building represents the Department of Water & Power's usage of Moderne styling for district offices during that time.

Sacred Heart Church

Built in 1893 and designed by Frank Capitan, it is one of the few remaining churches of late Nineteenth Century Los Angeles. It has a significant Victorian Gothic Revival exterior with a transitional square tower (now without the upper stories and spire). It also features a historic stained glass window and an ornate altar.

Lincoln Heights Jail (Los Angeles City Jail)

The Art Deco portion of the jail was built in 1931 by the Los Angeles City Construction department. The Bauhaus Modern addition was built in 1949, designed by Kaufman and Stanton.
